Relaxing in Bintan Island - Indonesia

We arrived in Bintan at 11am, in extreme heat and were advised that our room would not be available until 3pm. We grabbed our togs and headed to the most amazing pool EVER!! After a couple of cocktails in the Pool Bar we were soon to realise we may not move... We quickly got sober enough to walk back up to reception and gather our gear – followed by more drinks at the Pool Bar.

We meet a couple of FERAL Singapore [English speaking] girlies and spent the rest of the night showing them how kiwis drink – Sex on the Beach, Tequila, Tequila, Sex on the Beach, Tequila [went something like that].... We left the pool around midnight –Neither of us remember a thing! Woke up spewing in the rubbish bin and 35 degree heat. Not a good mix.

While on the Island
• Chris got to join the Elephant riding club which was lots of fun and heaps of laughs.
• Both of us ate far too much and now our stomachs have expanded to make our bodies think it’s normal. Vicious Cycle
• We both got nicely tanned
• We swam most of the day and lied in Hammocks at sunset
• We saw lots of freaky looking animals – including a dragon jumping into our swimming pool.
• We were there 3 days but wished it was a couple of days longer

Bintan Island was 100% relaxing! We spent most of our time in the pool [too hot to be anywhere else] and ate far too much. I would recommend Bintan Island to anyone looking for a getaway break.

We are currently in Poland and absolutely having a blast! Having so much fun living in a completely different culture where no one speaks English. It’s great for Chris to see his heritage, he is loving it and the wedding was absolutely amazing [2 days of shooting vodka...] but this is another blog all together with a million stories!! I will get onto this one shortly...
